Healing

image

The acknowledgment of our weakness is the first step in repairing our loss. --Thomas a Kempis

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)

image

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

Galatians 2:19-21

image

Through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.

Live Passionately

Choosing to live passionately is to live on the edge of discovery and adventure again. It requires both daring trust and humble respect. Jeff Imbach

Rescuing

image

"rescue |ˈreskyoō|: to save." However, to rescue someone you love from emotional pain may not necessarily be saving them, but might merely be postponing the glorious inevitable - growth through struggle!

Life's Journey

image

The purpose of life's journey is to live relationally with God so that His Love can be poured into us, by the Holy Spirit. We were created by Love, for Love and to Love. --Renee Brunette

God Likes You

image

We've all heard God loves us, but for some that's become a cliche. Maybe a better realization is that God actually likes us. To like someone is to enjoy their company! So know this, God enjoys your company!!!!!

One Thing

image

All of Life comes down to just one thing, and that's to know You oh Jesus, and to make You known! --Charlie Hall

Father/father

image

We often have a mistaken idea of Who our Father God is simply because we still see Him through the eyes we had as a child who only saw our earthly father.

Identity

image

“Whose” are you is more important than who you are. We often identify ourselves by what we do or how well we do. But when we embrace Who we belong to, we can do or not do anything and still be somebody pretty special!

Alice Wellington

A Colorado native, Alice feels very blessed to call Oklahoma home for the last 26 years! And while education can come in many forms, life has been her classroom, fieldtrips, and laboratory far more than any of the college degrees she can claim.

Life 101 began with a premature awakening. At a very young age, Alice was the victim of sexual molestation. This trauma opened the door to codependent tendencies that would plague many of her close relationships throughout her life. The cycle of boundary-impaired relationships came to crisis level not that long ago at which point she found that yielding to Father's healing touch was His invitation to taste His incredible love and acceptance of who she is in Him. No longer satisfied with just tasting, Alice is now devouring all she can of His love!

Another fieldtrip on Alice's resume was an opportunity to dive into Father's faithful arms when her husband was diagnosed with Medullary Carcinoma of the Thyroid. Both Alice and her husband had just finished their doctorates and had settled into their life plan of starting a family. This diagnosis came just two months after their positive pregnancy test announcing their first son. Prior to this diagnosis, Alice and her husband had arrogantly left God at the church doors and pursued worldly ambitions Monday through Saturday (so to speak). The cancer proved to offer the gift of waking both of them to how fragile life really is, which began a journey for them of learning to live in each moment, and live each moment in the presence of Father! They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year!

And any parent will tell you that one of the most indelible marks life's classroom can leave on a person is that of children. Parenting has had a way of showing Alice aspects of God's love far better than any Sunday morning sermon ever could. She has two incredible sons, currently 15 and 17, who both bless and challenge her daily to live what she says she believes. Her professional life as a psychologist was brief and very limited compared to the training she's received as a stay-at-home-mom for the last 16 years. It was during this tenure that God supplemented her training with eight years of Bible Study Fellowship and two necessary rounds of Renee's Be Transformed workbook study. Father used these two opportunities to cause her to hunger for Christian based counselor training which she found through Scope Ministries' Pneumanetics and Character and Skills of a Counselor 1 and 2 classes.

Alice's current curriculum in life is avidly reading Christ-focused Christian authors and passionately participating in small group Bible studies and discussion groups where the truth of Jesus' life within each person and developing an intimate relationship with Father is realized.
